Description
Originally hand-built by Megabass founder Yuki Ito for his own private use on Lake Biwa and location filming sessions, the X-Plose was a closely guarded personal lure before its release as an injection-moulded production bait. Its defining feature is a pair of uniquely formed propellers incorporating gear-hole teeth that produce a distinctive scratching, clutch-like sound as they spin - engineered to sync with the acoustic signature of schooling baitfish rather than simply displacing water. A low-profile flat balancer mounted at the belly keeps the body remarkably stable even during aggressive rod work, preventing unwanted roll and ensuring clean hook sets on violent surface strikes.
The Wagin Setsuki Ayu colourway applies Megabass's hyper-realistic Wagin finish to the ayu (sweetfish) in its setsuki - the seasonal feeding and spawning phase - rendered with the fine-detail paint work that has made Megabass a benchmark for Japanese lure artistry.
