Description
Born from the design enhancement of Megabass's Great Hunting trout minnow following the lifting of the Lake Nojiri fishing ban in 1995, the X-70 was built around a 3D centre of gravity movement system developed exclusively for Megabass - a mechanism that responds instantly to twitches and jerks, producing the wide, acrobatic side-to-side darting action that has made the X-70 one of the most enduringly popular flat-side minnows in Japanese bass and trout fishing for nearly three decades. Where minnow lures typically used to have a rounded body, the flat belly design of the X-70 was revolutionary at the time of development, creating stronger water pushing action compared to other minnow lures of the same size - generating a dramatic lateral flash on the dart that conventional round-body minnows of identical size could not replicate. The original SP (suspending) designation places this example in the foundational generation of the X-70 platform, predating the BFS and SP-C variants that would follow in subsequent years.
The GG Orange Gold colourway applies the Guanium Ghost holographic finish to a warm amber-orange and gold baitfish pattern - a colour sitting at the reaction trigger end of the JDM X-70 palette, absent from international market releases, and particularly effective in overcast, tannic, and low-light conditions where cooler baitfish patterns lose their presence.
