Description
The Deep-X 200T is the tungsten-upgraded evolution of the original Deep-X 200, featuring one of the earliest implementations of the Moving Balancer System - a three-position balancer that shifts to the tail during casting for maximum distance, moves to the front upon hitting the water to dive at a steep angle, then settles to the mid position at depth to produce its signature tight wiggling, high-pitch rolling action. A 2001-dated example sits in the earliest years of the 200T's production run - the tungsten composite upgrade over the original lead balancer having only recently been implemented - making this a genuinely early 200T example from the period when the model was first proving its credentials on Japan's tournament circuit. Compact and well-defined where most deep crankbaits of the era were fat and shapeless, the 200T presents a realistic baitfish profile from every viewing angle and is equally effective cranked steadily, worked on a stop-and-go retrieve, or twitched and paused like a jerkbait at depth.
The GG Tanagon colourway applies the Guanium Ghost holographic finish to the tanago (rosy bitterling) pattern - a small, vividly coloured Japanese freshwater fish rendered in pink-red flanks, olive-green back, and fine GG scale detailing that catches light at depth with the kind of subtle, natural flash that distinguishes the GG finish from more aggressively reflective treatments.
