Description
Mann's Bait Company was founded in 1956 by Tom Mann in Eufaula, Alabama, one of America's most creative and consequential bass lure designers. The Leroy Brown became one of the most internationally recognised American bass lures ever produced, fished literally around the world as the original packaging declares. The Leroy Brown is one of the most conceptually original lures in American fishing history - a lipless, sinking crankbait sculpted in the exact form of a largemouth bass, designed to be counted down at precisely one foot per second to any desired depth before cranking back through brush, standing timber, grass beds, and schooling fish. The original back-panel instructions deliver the Leroy Brown's fishing philosophy with characteristic directness: "For schooling fish, throw beyond the action and with a fast retrieve and rod held high, crank the lure right through the fish. Leroy Brown is also a great trolling bait. Cast it out, let it sink to the desired depth, and start trolling."
The Black Shad Chrome (LB387) colourway presents a full chrome/silver body with detailed bass scale and fin sculpting, red eye, and red-striped spinner tail - one of the most visually striking finishes in the Leroy Brown range, combining hyper-realistic bass form with the flash of a chrome finish.
