The Rick Clunn Classic's series was his personal signature line through Luck "E" Strike, hand-picked by Rick himself in colour and shape - as the original packaging declares: "no matter what fads come and go in the fishing world, these baits will always end up back in his personal tackle box." The RC D2 Series 1 "The Freak" is the shallowest-diving specialist in the Classic's deep crankbait family - a 6 to 10 foot diver that covers the mid-depth structural zone where bass stage along points, secondary humps, and the tops of submerged timber before dropping to the deeper ranges addressed by the Series 2.

Now discontinued across all Rick Clunn Classic's Series variants, this example from the original Cassville MO production era represents the founding generation of the Freak family.
