Description
A genuinely unique design within the Bassday range, the Bubble Crank is built to run at the very surface - its drilled titanium lip and tail prop generate a steady stream of bubbles on the retrieve, layering a visual disturbance on top of the lure's mid-frequency wobble that no conventional shallow crank can replicate. Now discontinued, it remains a sought-after lure among Japanese surface and finesse anglers for the specific bubble-trail effect it produces at less than a foot of depth.
The Ochiayu colourway depicts the autumn spawning-phase ayu (sweetfish), a fish with deep roots in Japanese seasonal culture and classical poetry, rendered in the richer, darker tones the species develops as it approaches spawning. The seasonal counterpart to the brighter early-summer Waka Ayu pattern.
