Description
The Hama Crank 62MR is the first crankbait ever designed by Haruhiko Murakami - one of Japan's most respected bass professionals, born in Osaka in 1968 and raised fishing Lake Biwa from the late 1980s, whose unconventional shore-fishing approach and meticulous lure development made him one of the most influential figures in Japanese bass fishing before he established his own brand Issei in 2013. The Hama Crank represents Murakami's foundational crankbait philosophy made physical - built around the concept of "using all water pressure as wobbling energy" while eliminating every unnecessary resistance point. Its body surface is flush without gills or other mouldings, pursuing zero energy loss; its long lip is designed for action rather than diving, tapered to the utmost thinness at the edge; and its flowing body line allows water flow to escape to the rear without load during the retrieve, while the narrowed tail swings with precise response.
The result is a crankbait refined and balanced to demonstrate 100% of its potential at just 80% of retrieve speed - a lure that demands less from the angler than any conventional crankbait of the era to deliver its full action. The Gold Black (Plated) colourway applies a premium metallic plated finish - a gold-black electroplated treatment that sets it apart from the matte and natural colour options in the Hama Crank range, presenting a high-contrast, mirror-quality surface that generates flash at depth in a way that conventional paint finishes cannot replicate.
