Description
Bearing the abbreviated "Yuki Ito Max 1/2 oz" body stamp of an early production run, this Pop-Max predates the standardised "Pop-Max" branding that would appear on later examples - a detail that places it among the first generation of what has become one of the most celebrated surface lures in Japanese bass fishing history. Conceived entirely from scratch without reference to the Pop-X mould, the Pop-Max is Yuki Ito's fully realised vision for a next-generation surface lure that functions simultaneously as a popper, a dog-walker, and a suspended surface target on the pause - all governed by the patented ITO Water Chamber System, in which six internal water intakes pressurise an internal chamber that keeps the large body grounded and workable at speeds that would cause conventional poppers of this size to skitter out of control.
The PM Raigyo colourway - Respect Colour #11 and one of the most acclaimed patterns in the Megabass catalogue - renders the skin of Japan's raigyo (snakehead) in a Pearl Mica finish: a dark olive-brown body with realistically detailed spotting and the signature cracked belly treatment that has made PM Raigyo a favourite across collectors and surface fishing specialists for decades. The factory-applied feathered rear treble completes the package, adding a trailing breathing movement on the pause that the standard hook configuration cannot replicate.
