Description
Descending directly from Japan's first injection-moulded small minnow - the Great Hunting Minnow 50 - the X-55 SP is the foundational unit of Megabass's minnow philosophy: a 55mm body so precisely hydroformed that it suspends motionless in the water column and responds to the lightest rod input with a credible, life-like dart, without relying on any internal weight system. At only 3 grams it is one of the most exacting lures in the Megabass range to produce consistently, and its reputation on Japan's most heavily pressured rivers, streams, and lake margins reflects decades of refinement in both body geometry and balance.
The GP Hidaka Blue colourway applies the Guanium Phantom finish - Megabass's most subtle and sophisticated paint process, producing a semi-transparent, softly iridescent body that refracts rather than reflects light - over a baitfish pattern referencing the cold, gin-clear rivers of the Hidaka region of Hokkaido, Japan. The result is a translucent blue-backed body with a vivid orange lateral accent - a colour combination that reads as a living baitfish in clear water without the full flash commitment of a GG finish, making it specifically suited to the pressured, spooky fish of Hokkaido's pristine stream and river environments.
