Description

Handcrafted from natural ultra-light solid balsa - a material Megabass specifically selected for its living, breathing surface response that no resin or ABS plug can replicate - the Scream-X Orca is the third and most transformative lure in Megabass's Scream-X series. Where the original Scream-X delivered wide action variation and the Scream-X Jr. offered technical maneuverability, the Orca introduces something different: a calculated prop form body - a fusion form of propeller geometry - that naturally generates unintended transformation actions by accurately intertwining water flow, causing it to engulf and peel away as appropriate to the angler's rod work. Megabass describes it as a lure with "a special magical power that will captivate the top water plugger, which you will be addicted to as you use it." Its defining feature is the metal flap tail - linked to the dog walk left and right by rod action, it kicks and slaps the water surface, producing an irregular flashing and distinctive slapping sound that transforms the Orca's surface presence into something that, in Megabass's own words, moves "as if Orca himself has a will." The high buoyancy of the balsa body enables head banking, quick table turns, dives, and slides impossible with conventional full-size pencils - all produced through simple rod work with line slugs that any angler can execute.

Dated 2005 on the belly stamp alongside Yuki Ito's own designation - the primary authenticity marker on this example - the Spotted Brown Frog (SBF) colourway renders the natural olive-brown skin of a spotted frog with yellow and dark spot markings, and timber belly, presenting at the surface as a struggling frog in the moment a predator commits.
