Description

The original Live-X which was introduced many years ago is no longer available, but the basic concept lives on within every member of the Live-X series - with the most complex Multi-Way Moving Balancer System, the Live-X series created a new bait category: the diving jerk-minnow. The Smolt is the most compact expression of that philosophy - a 48mm body determined from the profile and size of Japanese fingering baits, engineered to suspend and flutter at 1.2 metres with an action that defies its size. A vertical centre of gravity shift mechanism raises the centre of gravity with the impact of a twitch or slight pump, allowing anyone to easily create a fluttering action - and the lure boasts an excellent stable action from ultra slow to fast speed, regardless of whether it is used in lakes or mountain streams.

The Ito Shrimp colourway carries the name of Megabass founder Yuki Ito himself - a translucent crustacean pattern rendered in pale amber-orange tones that imitates a juvenile shrimp or prawn in clear to lightly stained water, occupying the natural presentation end of the Smolt's colour range where subtlety and water compatibility take precedence over flash or contrast. At 48mm the Smolt in Ito Shrimp presents as a perfectly sized shrimp imitation for the estuary and stream environments where small crustaceans form a significant part of the forage base for bass, bream, and trout alike.
