Description
The Live-X Leviathan SP is the suspending flagship of Megabass's Live-X series - the lure credited with establishing the diving minnow as the dominant technique in Japanese bass fishing from the mid-1990s onward. Equipped with the most complex multi-way balancer system in the Live-X lineup, it delivers acrobatic short darts and a violent rolling flash in the 2.2–2.6 metre depth window that proved so productive for staging and post-cold-front bass. A 2005-dated example sits squarely in the peak mid-production era of the Leviathan SP, after the lure's performance credentials were fully established and before later runs saw it phase out of standard catalogue production.
The Mat Tiger colourway breaks from the Leviathan's typical naturalistic baitfish palette entirely - a bright lime-green matte base with dark tiger stripe markings that functions as a reaction trigger and "shocker" colour, designed to generate strikes from fish that have already seen and ignored the natural presentations, and endorsed by tournament professionals as a pattern specifically for re-working busted schools.
